Learning Log 7
It has been awhile since my Romeo & Juliet performance and the truth is I am seriously stunned and amazed by the performance we had put up that day. Before the performance, we met very often for very long hours, much longer than other groups, unfortunately our group did not progress as well as the other groups. Soon our group members were quite unhappy and started to not put that much effort in rehearsals, I was one of them. The thing that went on my mind was: I am just benvolio, a character who says one line, "Away begone, the sport is at the best." and leaves. And even if I go for the rehearsals, which are sometimes as long as 7am to 6pm, I will be definitely wasting my time there, although I went for approximately 75% of the rehearsals. On the day of the performance, I realised that we were lacking the other groups in speech and ideas. Before our performance, I really thought of just finishing it and we assure ourselves that we would be the group with the least marks in our class. Thankfully, we experienced a sudden turn of events during the performance, our props were looking great, our lines were delivered well and with good emotions. In conclusion for this Romeo & Juliet performance, we done much better than we expected it to turn out, not counting a few mistakes we made, but I still think we wasted a lot of time... From the performance and practices, I have learnt that even though you are a small character, you are as important as everyone else is. I also gained better relationships with my team mates through the whole great experience!

Learning Log 6
During my last Literature lesson, I have learnt some literary devices which will be useful in my composition. Firstly literary devices are mostly used to convey a certain meaning to the reader, for example a metaphor" The teacher thundered at the class." The quality of an cloud is applied onto the teacher to show his or her anger. Above all the literary devices I already knew and understood, I also learnt new one such as hyperbole, paradox and oxymoron. My favourite literary device so far is oxymoron as it gives a contradictory effect and the word sound cool!

Learning Log 5
After reading the booklet which is all about Unseen poems and prose, I learnt how to organise my answer, for example the PEEL method, which is simply just Point, Explain/Elaborate, Evidence/Example and last but not least, Link. The second thing which I have learnt is how to quote. An example is: " He almost seems friendly, as he 'grin'. 'neatly spreads his claws' and has 'gently smiling jaws'. " This is done by incorporating words or short phrases into the sentence with inverted commas. Lastly, there is Irony. There is two different types of ironies, there is the situational irony, the irony occurs when one expects least for it to happen, instead the opposite occurs. Next there is the Verbal irony, it is commonly used for sarcasm and expresses contradiction between what is said and what it actually means. The Verbal irony is used to create humour, to criticize and to add to sense of tragedy.

Learning Log 4
The Macbeth performance by 2 commitment was very well done in my opinion, because the groups were creative in dressing and also in the props. Before the performance, I really felt that my group would not make it as we were not serious with the discussions. But somehow as time grew closer to the performance date, we somehow pulled everything together. During the performance, I was interestingly not anxious, but was rather excited and felt fun! Other groups were also very good, in terms of their tone and volume in imitating the three witches. I feel that Mrs.Woo is a great teacher for she laughed with us, making us have a feel of relief during the performance.

Learning Log 3
This monday we had a lesson on predictions, unfortunately, I was sick that day but luckily I was around during the previous lesson, so I would still be able to write this Learning Log with the help of my friends. At the begining of the lesson, we were told to write about something which happened to be predicted and but happened. At that time I took really long to get an idea. After that, mrs. Woo to get into our appointed groups where we shared about our story. Some of their stories were creepy but we still laughed after the story. And if am not wrong, they presented the stories to the whole class. In my opinion, this lesson was better than I expected, in the company of my friends. Therefore I feel that I can learn better with fun, so I would be looking forward to these types of lessons where we interect with our friends.

Learning Log 2
This lesson has made me realise that the people at that time really believed in the superstitions they made, such as “Eight is a lucky number”, just because the number eight sounds like ‘fa’ which means prosperity. Although I feel that these superstitions were either unreasonable or plain hilarious, I was still adding many new things into my brain. Despite the fact that I do not believe in superstition, I still have to listen to them almost daily. But the group work and discussion my classmates and I did together was much more interesting than learning alone. I wish that most of the work we are assigned could be done in groups to lessen the work load and help us grow closer to other classmates, also make the lesson more interesting which improves our learning speed.
The lesson on the presentation of Macbeth act 1, scene 1 was not only fun, it also thought me to speak loud and clear when presenting, to ensure that everyone is able to hear what I am saying. The reason why the presentation was funny is because my friends had difficulties trying to imitate the pitch of the three witches and sounded really weird, while one of them had difficulties trying to speak loudly. In conclusion, this lesson was one of the more interesting lessons compared to other Literature lessons as the class had fun while learning, which is great and I wish that we would experience more of these types of lessons, rather than those boring and uninteresting lessons, where I even had difficulties staying awake.

Learning Log 1
After this lesson on Cinquain, I have learnt how to write Cinquain poems, which I feel is not entirely very difficult. Cinquain poems have five lines, the first line of the poem is the title(one word), the second is the adjective(two words), on the third line it is the action(three words), the next line shows the feelings(four words) and lastly, a word to sum up the whole Cinquain poem. I feel that Cinquain poems are really interesting, as there is a chance to express your own feelings on the title, which is great, be it the title you chose or not. I feel that Ms. Woo, my Literature teacher has thought the class well, because everyone is clear on how to write Cinquain poems by now.
